2 cups flour

1 cups sugar

lb. butter

cup milk

2 tsp. baking powder

2 tsp. vanilla

4 eggs – room temperature

Grease and flour a loaf pan. Cream butter and sugar together, stir in milk and eggs.  Beat in flour, baking powder and vanilla. Bake 1 hour at 350

There is a reason why they call this "pound" cake.  It's so loaded with butter that you may as well just pack it directly onto your thighs.  There is however, a time and place for everything and sometimes a treat is warranted.  Don't eat this one everyday, but never let an Easter go by without serving it for brunch.

Preheat Oven To: 350

Yield: 1 loaf

Serve With:  Fresh Fruit Salad or preserves and whipped cream.
