1 cup peanut butter

1 cup butter

1 cup sugar

1 cup brown sugar

2 eggs

1 tsp. vanilla

2 cups flour

1 tsp baking powder

1 tsp. baking soda

tsp. salt

Optional unless the kids have already had them this way

1 cup chocolate chips

These cookies have won the hearts of old and young alike.  Don't make them if you are trying to shed a few pounds.  They are unfairly addictive.  If you are serving them to children, be prepared to make them on a regular basis.  Children have been known to take strike action if they are not served at least twice a week.

Preheat Oven To: 350

Serves: 7 dozen cookies

Cream peanut butter, butter and sugar together.  Blend in eggs and vanilla.  Add flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.  Mix well.  Shape rounded teaspoons full of dough into balls.  Place on ungreased baking sheets.  Flatten slightly and criss-cross with a fork.  Bake at 350 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes or until lightly browned.  (Watch them...you don't want them too dark or burned and it happens fast). Makes 7 dozen cookies.
