1 cup sugar

cup cocoa

1 cup flour

1 tsp. baking soda

1 tsp. salt

cup shortening

1 cup buttermilk (or whatever milk is around)

2 eggs

1 tsp. vanilla

This is an awesome, moist, chocolate cake.  I like to make it in a bundt pan and drizzle it with melted chocolate chips with a little orange rind added.  The bundt pan is great because you can fill the hole in the middle with fresh flowers and everyone thinks you spent all day in the kitchen, just for them. Rock on Martha!

Preheat Oven To: 350

Serves:  6 - 8

Forget all the fuss.  Just throw it all in a bowl and beat the snot out of it for 4 minutes.  Pour into a greased and floured bundt pan and bake at 350 for 30 – 35 minutes.  If it's not done yet, turn the oven down to 275 and keep an eye on it.
