Beef Stroganoff

½ lb. boneless steak

1 tbsp. oil

1 to 2 tbsp. butter

 ¼ cup minced onion

½ cup sliced mushrooms

1 tbsp. flour

½ cup beef stock

½ tsp. Worcestershire sauce

¼ tsp. salt

Fresh ground pepper

Dash red pepper

½ cup sour cream (use light if you must...it'll be great anyway)

1 tsp. parsley

I love this stuff.  Serve it for company. Serve it for fun or when you would rather enjoy your company than cook for hours.  It's fast and easy and sure the please.

Serve With:  Serve over simple steamed rice or egg noodles with a Caesar salad and dry red  wine.

Cut steak into very thin slices.  Lightly quick fry in hot oil.  Remove and add butter to skillet.  Sauté onions and mushrooms.  Remove and add butter if necessary to make 1 tbsp.  Blend in flour.  Cook until frothy.  Blend in remaining ingredients all but sour cream.  Simmer till thick and smooth.  Add beef, heat, add sour cream, heat (do not boil.... it will separate).  Serve over simple rice.
