Banana Bread




	½ cup butter 1 cup sugar 2 eggs – well beaten 1 cup all purpose flour 1 cup whole wheat flour 1 tsp. salt 3 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. lemon juice 1 cup very ripe bananas - mashed


		This is my best "loaf cake" recipe. Instead of bananas, you can add 1 cup of apple sauce and a pinch of nutmeg (my favorite), or 1 cup mashed oranges and 1 tsp. grated rind, 1 cup mashed lemon or strawberries or blueberries or ......

	Preheat Oven To: 350 Yield: One Loaf Serve With: Tea, Coffee or Brandy

Cream butter, stir in sugar, then eggs, then dry ingredients, then bananas, then lemon juice. Blend with electric mixer for 3 minutes. Pour into greased and floured loaf pan and bake for 1 hour in 350-degree oven or until center springs back when touched lightly.
