4 medium apples – peeled and cored.  Macintosh apples work just fine but it's a special treat if you can find spy apples in season.

cup brown sugar

cup flour

cup rolled oats

cup margarine

sprinkle of nutmeg and/or cinnamon

Lightly grease an 8" pan with butter. Cut apples into thin slices and place in pan. Sprinkle with tsp. nutmeg or 1 tsp. cinnamon if desired.

Mix oats, sugar, and flour together, cut margarine into dry ingredients.  Pat gently on top of apples and bake about 35 minutes.

 

This is my best girlfriend, Kathy B's recipe.  It is the best apple crisp ever!  I had a friend who would work on my car for free if I filled his freezer with this in individual portion containers.  Thanks Kath!

Preheat Oven To: 350

Serves:  4

Serve With:  Whipped Cream, Fresh Cream, Ice Cream, Sharp Cheddar Cheese or all on it's own.
