4 medium apples – peeled and cored. Macintosh apples work just fine but it's a special treat if you can
find spy apples in season.
¾ cup brown sugar
½ cup flour
¾ cup rolled oats
½ cup margarine
sprinkle of nutmeg and/or cinnamon
Lightly grease an 8" pan with butter. Cut apples into thin slices and place in pan. Sprinkle with ¼ tsp. nutmeg or 1 tsp. cinnamon if desired.
Mix oats, sugar, and flour together, cut margarine into dry ingredients. Pat gently on top of apples and bake about 35 minutes.
